Leashes for Law Enforcement

A simple leash can make all the difference during an animal-related emergency. The Animal Welfare League of the Northern Neck donated 200 dog leashes to local law enforcement agencies to help officers safely respond to animal-related incidents throughout the community.

The Animal Welfare League of the Northern Neck (AWL) recently distributed 200 dog leashes to law enforcement officers thoughout the Northern Neck to support officer safety and effective on-site animal handling. In situations such as a car accident involving a loose dog that may flee the scene, or other stressful situations where the animal could be in jeopardy, having a leash on hand can help keep the animal safe.

AWL is proud to support the law enforcement professionals in the four counties of the Northern Neck. The AWL leash project not only strengthens the partnership AWL has with local law enforcement, but also promotes a safer, more compassionate approach to animal-related incidents. This contribution continues AWL’s commitment to animal welfare and the community.
